The Maze Runner: Movie Review

Based on best-selling novel, this movie that actually comes with three more sequels that might satisfy you as sci-fi enthusiast. The story is a bit similar to The Hunger Games, but at the beginning, it only has male participants, or in The Hunger Games they call it tributes. At the end, there's only one female was sent as the last participant.

To be honest, in the first 70 minutes I was wondering why there’s such organisation built up a huge maze to create such prank for human. It even costs people’s lives! You need to wait till the end to find out what causing this inhuman experiment.

The Maze Runner, basically telling about a study plus experiment of human survival hold by WICKED (World In Catastrophe, Killzone Experiment Department). They send supplies (foods, clothes ect) plus one man every month to the area known as Glade that is surrounded by huge maze. No one can leave Glade but only by finding a path through the huge maze that changes its path every night. So there are runners, people who can constantly run for hours in a day to remember and draw all the maze, every inch, every turn.

Thomas was sent to Glade and all he remembered was nothing but hours later he just remembered his name. All men on Glade equally don’t remember about their past, since it seems like WICKED programs their memory. The leader, Alby, divides some tasks to do for all men there. The most dangerous one is the runner. Since if they don’t comeback until like sunset, they’ll be stuck there and get sting by a robot-like spider or something. And they died.

When everything is changing from the normal day, Alby and Minho take a run to the maze. They didn’t make it. Before the giant gate is closed, Thomas follows them inside the maze and had to spend a night in the maze.

Many got killed. The maze was ruined. The operation, seems failed. But the question is: Do you think they could survive?

Hint: Apparently like most of story all the time, the writer seems so in love with the main characters. So it’s like a hard decision to kill them or vanish them from the story. Like every magic ridiculously happen to the main characters hell yeah!

The Maze Runner has given me a nice depiction of how a spontaneous action should be taken immediately in a precarious situation while also using your instinct to survive and DON’T STAY IN YOUR COMFORT ZONE!
I value this movie for its unique-new story and the strong character of Thomas. Overall, I didn’t get either boring convo or stupid logic, so this movie is good for me.
